The 2023 “Come, Follow Me” curriculum items are available digitally now in Gospel Library and on ComeFollowMe.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and the curriculum begins on Monday, December 26, 2022.
For the 2023 curriculum, the Church revised the print and digital versions of the 2019 “Come, Follow Me” manuals for individuals and families, Sunday School, Primary, and Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women . Revisions include corrected errors, additional music suggestions for the home, new talks from modern-day prophets, updated images, and new or improved activities.
For more details and the list of materials to be used for classes, see Instructions for Curriculum 2023. Relief Society and elders quorum meetings will continue to focus on general conference messages.
When President Russell M. Nelson first introduced “Come, Follow Me” in 2018, he said the home-centered, Church-supported integrated curriculum “has the potential to unleash the power of families, as each family follows through conscientiously and carefully to transform their home into a sanctuary of faith” (“Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints,” October 2018 general conference).
“The ‘Come, Follow Me’ manual is meant to be a tool that can enhance members’ study of the New Testament and facilitate personal revelation through the Holy Ghost,” said Sunday School General President Mark L. Pace.
Members are encouraged to use digital versions of the revised manuals where possible. Use the links below or visit ComeFollowMe.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, which includes links to all “Come, Follow Me” manuals and other regularly updated media.
New Testament Teaching Resources
In 2011, Church leaders dedicated a large movie set in central Utah modeled after the city of Jerusalem from the period of Christ’s ministry. That set was used to create a series of 104 short videos, simply called Bible Videos, that depict significant events and teachings from the life of Jesus Christ. Those videos have now been viewed nearly 600 million times by Christians from around the world.
At the time of their release, President Henry B. Eyring, now Second Counselor in the First Presidency, said the videos would be a free gift for all to access online. The videos are available on YouTube and on the Church’s website.
Other helpful New Testament resources include:
- Children’s Bible Videos (features children telling Bible stories in their own words)
- New Testament teaching videos
- New Testament Stories (for children)
- New Testament resources from the Friend
- Scripture Stories Coloring Book—New Testament (for children)
- New Testament images
Teaching in the Savior’s Way
Latter-day Saints are encouraged to use Teaching in the Savior’s Way resources, which include a June 12 devotional featuring Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf and helpful teaching videos. A revised “Teaching in the Savior’s Way” manual is available now on Gospel Library, and a print version will be sent to every household in January.
2023 Curriculum Materials by Class
Individuals and Families (Home Study)
Families and individuals are encouraged to study the scriptures more at home using the revised manual “Come, Follow Me—For Individuals and Families: New Testament 2023.” This home-study manual focuses on the same New Testament scripture passages that you will learn about in your Sunday School classes.
Primary (Every Sunday)
All Primary classes will learn from the same revised “Come, Follow Me — For Primary: New Testament 2023” lesson manual. Nursery classes will continue to use “Behold Your Little Ones: Nursery Manual.” Additional Resources for Teaching Children are helpful for both home and in-class learning. Primary singing time will focus on music that supports the scriptures that children study in their classes.
Sunday School (1st and 3rd Sundays)
The Sunday School manual for adults and youth is the revised “Come, Follow Me — For Sunday School: New Testament 2023.”
Teachers should use the manual for individuals and families to learn about the scripture accounts and the principles to be taught, then use the Sunday School manual to prepare and organize lessons that support what class members are studying at home, combining and adapting lessons as necessary.
Instruction and class discussion should help class members understand and apply the doctrine in the scriptures.
Elders Quorum and Relief Society (2nd and 4th Sundays)
Elders quorum and Relief Society meetings will focus on messages from the most recent general conference (see “Learning from General Conference”). Conference talks can be found in print or online in the May and November issues of the Liahona magazine. They are also available in the Gospel Library app or on the Church website.
Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood (2nd and 4th Sundays)
Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings focus on the gospel topics found in “Come, Follow Me—For Aaronic Priesthood Quorums and Young Women Classes: Doctrinal Topics 2023.” Leaders and teachers are encouraged to select lesson outlines that best meet the needs of quorum members. See also Ideas for Virtual Learning and Teaching andLearning and Teaching Helps and Videos for Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women.
